Online auction payment & collection terms

Successful bidders will receive a proforma invoice by email for IMMEDIATE SETTLEMENT by same-day bank transfer, debit card or cash. Debit card payments can be made by  ringing Techbid on +44 207 436 6899, QUOTING YOUR BIDDER NUMBER. We regret that neither credit cards nor cheques can be accepted.

The quickest & simplest method of payment is by direct bank transfer & our bank details are clearly shown on the proforma invoice. Overseas buyers who choose not to use SWIFT must be aware that payments may take several days to reach our account which will delay the collection of purchased lots. All bank fees must be paid by the buyer and further delays may be incurred until the full amount payable has been received. If you use this method, be sure to state 'Techbid+Your Bidder Number' as the reference.

All lots are subject to a 15% Buyers Premium plus VAT at the UK prevailing rate. EC buyers should provide their VAT number when registering to bid so that VAT can be excluded from their invoice. Other overseas buyers will be charged VAT but this can be refunded when acceptable proof of export has been provided. Note that VAT is payable on buyers premium even when goods are exported. All queries regarding payment should be directed to our auction sales accounts team at: accounts@techbid.co.uk

Lots may be removed from ~REMOVED_FROM~ and all lots MUST be removed from the site within 10 working days, ie by ~REMOVED_BY~ Overseas buyers ONLY will be allowed an additional 5 days to remove lots, ie until ~REMOVED_BY_OVERSEAS~. After this period, a £60+VAT storage fee will be charged per item per week.

Collection is by appointment from: TV Set, 10-11 Percy Street, London W1T 1DN, UK from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Buyers should email collections@techbid.co.uk to arrange this. Any uncollected items may be disposed of after 20 working days from the end of sale. In the event of any lots not being paid for or not being removed within this period Techbid shall immediately thereafter be at liberty to rescind the contract and without notice to the purchaser to resell such lot or lots by public or private sale. In the event of any such resale, any loss or damage (including storage charges) suffered by the vendor shall be forthwith recoverable from the purchaser by the vendor.

The risk in each lot shall pass to the purchaser following notification of the successful bid and the purchaser is strongly advised to effect insurance at once, irrespective of the fact that ownership of each lot remains vested in the vendor and the purchaser shall not be entitled to remove any lot until payment in full has been made for each and every lot purchased by him at the sale.

Techbid does not automatically undertake packaging, postage, delivery or shipment of goods and the bidder must make his own arrangements to comply with the clearance terms. However, a chargeable service may be available, depending on the lots purchased, & packing charges will vary with the nature of the item.

Unless exceptionally fragile, packing prices per package are: 1kg to 5kg: £15+VAT; 5kg-10kg: £25+VAT, 11kg-25kg: £40+VAT. Above 25kg and below 1kg by special arrangement. Depending on the actual lot(s) purchased, a shipping quotation may also be offered at cost plus 25% handling charge (minimum handling per consignment: £15+VAT).

However, buyers are encouraged to arrange their own collection by courier where possible as no liability can be accepted by Techbid for any damage occurred in transit FOR WHATEVER REASON. Note however that no packing or shipping will be initiated until payment of all relevant charges has been made, including any storage charges where applicable. To arrange a shipping quote, please email: collections@techbid.co.uk

Purchasers are advised to bring some form of identification when collecting won lots and should ensure that their contractors hold sufficient public liability insurance, copies of which should be made available to Techbid if demanded. Techbid will only permit removal of lots by the successful purchaser or their duly appointed agent.
